My name is Rick Ellis and I am a professional, full time, guitar and music theory teacher in Huntington Beach.

I am Thumbtack’s highest ranked, most hired and most reviewed guitar teacher. While I am proud of these achievements, I am even prouder of the results and the success I have achieved over the past twenty-five plus years of training and producing quality guitarists who achieved or exceeded their guitar playing goals.

I am not encumbered by a non-related day job or by tours, concerts or other commitments that demand my time and could impact the progress and continuity of students lessons. My students benefit from the highest possible level of personalized instruction, individual attention, mentorship, service and support. I provide my students with every conceivable resource to facilitate their learning and progression as guitarists. This includes a wide range of supporting material, information and tools that allows them to get the most out of their time.

I am dedicated to my profession, devoted to the success of my students, and I love teaching guitar as much as much as I love playing guitar. I am a a skilled motivator and a positive thinker with a contagious optimistic attitude. I possess excellent communication skills and I have a well balanced combination of qualifications, expertise and experience that enables me to teach beginning through advanced levels of guitar playing and music theory very effectively.
